For a number of years, the Lancashire Branch has offered a fishery facility to encourage youngsters and newcomers to the sport, promote membership of the Association and provide a facility exclusively for S&TA members to enjoy. Wharfe Lake Fishery, Scorton nr Lancaster is well stocked with rainbow and golden trout and a day’s fishing is £10, or £5 for an evening only.

In a bid to develop their tuition facility, the Branch has managed to secure a £5,000 grant from Awards for All. This funding will be used to improve some of the facilities at Wharfe Lake, as well as purchasing extra sets of tackle for beginners. The Branch will also be able to develop a comprehensive coaching programme to introduce more local groups to the sport.
